Lex did finally get adopted by the family of Corporal Dustin Lee.  The full background of the story can be read at AARP, The Magazine. Lex has had a hard life and his arthritis really became a major problem recently. 

Lex was taken to Dr. Lee Morgan, a veterinarian in the Geoergetown area of Maryland.  Dr. Morgan is a Vet-Stem credentialed veterinarian and offers stem cell services to his clients.  With the help of many donations, the Lee family raised enough money to fund the stem cell treatment for Lex.  When we at Vet-Stem heard about the story, we were so touched that we have donated a lifetime supply of stem cells for Lex, as he will likely need them with over 50 pieces of shrapnel still lodged in his body.    You too can help Lex by making a donation to the following:
