Stem Cells from an animal’s own fat

Amazing how veterinary medicine is evolving. As little as two years ago, stem cells were a far off abstract idea to most dog and cat veterinarians. Many probably thought stem cell therapy would first be used for humans and then the animals would get the spin off from the new treatment option.

Isn’t it really interesting that our dogs, horses and cats are being treated with leading edge science for arthritis and tendon injuries now, ahead of humans! I am excited to have been able to bring this leading edge therapy to our animal friends, and it is a plus to know that the results from their treatment will help to allow approval of stem cell therapy in people.

What do you think about pets being treated for arthritis with stem cells before their owners?
