Dog & Cat Success Stories

Small - Feline with Multiple Fractures

In November 2007, our cat 'Small' fell from a considerable height of six floors and shattered three of his legs. Here, in India, Small had two surgeries, both of which were unsuccessful. Three agonizing months later, the doctors had given up hope of saving his hind leg, which had by this time lost all muscle, had no feeling and looked like a shriveled dangling rope. It seemed that amputation was the only option left. The situation had hit rock bottom. We did not give up hope... In February 2008, we came to Los Angeles in search of a miracle cure. We found that cure in the form of the Animal Specialty Group, Glendale, with Dr. Jerrold Bausman and his dedicated and compassionate team of professionals. The enthusiasm and commitment with which ASG treated us and all its other patients, assured us that our decision to travel across the world with a severely wounded cat, was going to be worth it. After two surgeries followed by stem cell therapy and subsequent daily physiotherapy at the California Animal Rehabilitation Center, Small made an incredible recovery. Today, three months since our return to India, Small can walk, jump around chasing moths and run up and down stairs! His progress is amazing and has far exceeded our hopes and expectations. If there is anything that we have learned from this experience it is to never give up and have faith that if you wish for something hard enough, it may just come true...
